Members of the Hobart Town (1804) First Settlers Association Inc. regret the passing of their long-time member, Margaret. She served the Association in many roles and was a staunch advocate in recognising the history and heritage of Tasmania and will be sorely missed. The December meeting of the Association will be held as planned, knowing this would be Margaret's wish. (Published in The Mercury 2 December 2017) Posted on 04 Dec 2017 by webmaster.
The HTFS monthly meetings venue has moved to the Moonah Community Centre, 7 Gormanston Road, Moonah with the September meeting being the first. Change is often difficult but a number of advantages for members include easier parking, better kitchen, less work to setup room on arrival and departure and more convenient bus service, just to name a few. I hope we see more members attend monthly meetings at this new venue. Posted on 12 Sep 2017 by webmaster.
