This Association is neither endorsing or defending the Hobart City Council's decision to remove the statue to probably to placed in storage.

In April 2023, the Federal Government announced that it had secured the long-term future of Trove, one of Australia's most significant historical and cultural resources.

The Government will provide the National Library of Australia with $33 million over four years in the Budget.

The Australian National Library for the past decade has provided the free digital resource of newspapers and magazines, photographs, web archives, parliamentary papers, reports and more, is now warning that the resource may have to close without Government Funding.
